Fordite, also known as Motor Agate, is cut, baked, and polished from recycled layers of car paint recovered at automotive factories. The overspray techniques that produced these great layers of color are no longer used. Unfortunately the lapidaries don't know the exact makes and models from which it is derived. You can make your own story about that!
